  • They cannot do anything about people watching things underage, because of digital technology.
  • You can easily find unedited versions via piracy.
  • One of the reasons the BBFC exists is to protect the public from harm

The increasing power of global media corporations together with the rise of convergent media technologies and transformations in the production, distribution and marketing of digital media, have placed traditional approaches to media regulation at risk.

Films such as Black Panther try to get a twelve rating so that they can reach a wider demographic. If their age rating is high, then they will miss out on making money.
